Notification Channels

TaskManager can notify you through multiple channels:

Push Notifications

Real-time notifications sent to your device. Works on:

Emails sent to your registered email address. Useful for:

Enabling Push Notifications

  1. Go to Notification Settings
    Navigate to Account Settings → Notifications
  2. Click Enable Push Notifications
    Your browser will ask for permission to send notifications. Click "Allow".
  3. Verify Setup
    A test notification will be sent to confirm everything is working.
✓ iOS Push Notifications
To receive push notifications on iOS, you must add TaskManager to your home screen first. Open Safari, tap the Share button, then "Add to Home Screen". After that, enable notifications in the app settings.

Notification Categories

You can enable or disable notifications for each category independently.

Tasks

⚠ Safety Notifications
Safeword notifications cannot be disabled. This ensures that safety signals are always received. You can choose whether to also receive email notifications for safewords.

Hierarchy Activity

Email Digest Settings

Instead of individual emails, you can receive a digest summarizing activity:

Quiet Hours

Set times when you don't want to receive push notifications:

  1. Enable Quiet Hours toggle
  2. Set start time (e.g., 10:00 PM)
  3. Set end time (e.g., 7:00 AM)
  4. Choose which days to apply (or all days)

During quiet hours, notifications are still collected and shown when you open the app, but no push alerts are sent.

✓ Exception for Safety
Safeword notifications bypass quiet hours to ensure safety signals are always received.

Per-Hierarchy Settings

If you belong to multiple hierarchies, you can configure notification settings for each one separately:

  1. Switch to the hierarchy you want to configure
  2. Go to that hierarchy's Settings → Notifications
  3. Adjust settings specific to that hierarchy

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Push Notifications

  1. Check that notifications are enabled in your browser settings
  2. Verify TaskManager has permission to send notifications
  3. Try disabling and re-enabling push notifications in Account Settings
  4. On iOS, make sure the app is added to your home screen

Too Many Notifications

  1. Review each category and disable ones you don't need
  2. Switch to Daily or Weekly digest for emails
  3. Enable Quiet Hours for uninterrupted focus time

Notifications Delayed

Push notification delivery depends on your device and network. If notifications are consistently delayed:
