Only the organization owner can manage billing and subscriptions. This ensures secure financial control.
Viewing Current Subscription
- Navigate to Organization Settings
- Click "Billing & Subscription"
- View your current tier, renewal date, and payment method
Upgrading Your Subscription
To upgrade from Free to Paid or from Paid to Premium:

Go to Billing Settings
Organization Settings → Billing & Subscription

Click "Upgrade"
Choose your desired tier (Paid or Premium).

Enter Payment Information
Provide credit card details. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.

Confirm Purchase
Review the amount and billing cycle, then confirm.

Instant Activation
Your new tier limits and features are available immediately.

All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. TaskManager never stores your full credit card information.
Payment Methods
Accepted Payment Methods
- Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover
- Debit cards with credit card processing
- Apple Pay and Google Pay (when available)
Updating Payment Method
To change or update your payment method:
- Go to Billing & Subscription
- Click "Update Payment Method"
- Enter new card details
- Click "Save" to update
Payment Method Updates
Your payment method will be charged automatically on your renewal date. Update your payment method before the renewal date to avoid service interruption.
Billing Cycle and Renewals
TaskManager subscriptions are billed annually:
- Paid Tier: $29/year (billed once per year)
- Premium Tier: $99/year (billed once per year)
- Automatic Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled
- Renewal Reminders: You'll receive an email 7 days before renewal
Proration
If you upgrade mid-cycle:
- You're charged the prorated difference for the remaining time
- Your renewal date stays the same
- Next year, you'll be charged the full annual price
Invoices and Receipts
Viewing Invoices
- Go to Billing & Subscription
- Scroll to "Invoice History"
- View all past invoices with dates and amounts
Downloading Invoices
- Click "Download PDF" next to any invoice
- Invoices include organization name, billing details, and payment breakdown
- Use for expense reports or business accounting
Tax Information
Invoices do not include sales tax by default. If you need tax-inclusive invoices, contact support with your tax ID.
Canceling Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time with no penalties or fees.

Organization Settings → Billing & Subscription

Click "Cancel Subscription"
You'll be asked to confirm your cancellation.

Choose Cancellation Timing
Cancel immediately or at the end of your billing period.

Confirm Cancellation
Your subscription will be canceled as requested.
⚠ What Happens After Cancellation
- You keep access until the end of your billing period
- After that, you revert to the Free tier
- Ensure you're within Free tier limits before downgrading
- No refunds for partial periods
Downgrading Checklist
Before your subscription ends, ensure you're within Free tier limits:
- Reduce active tasks to 25 or fewer
- Reduce organization members to 2 or fewer
- Archive or delete excess rewards, consequences, and other items
- Delete media to fit within 100 MB storage limit
Reactivating a Canceled Subscription
If you canceled and want to reactivate:
- Go to Billing & Subscription
- Click "Reactivate Subscription"
- Choose your tier and confirm payment
- Instant reactivation with full access restored

- Payment Failed: Update your payment method and retry
- Incorrect Charge: Review your invoice or contact support
- Need Refund: Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis by support

Can I get a refund if I cancel?
Generally, subscriptions are non-refundable. However, if you have a specific issue or concern, contact support - we may be able to help.
What if my payment fails?
If a renewal payment fails, we'll retry 3 times over 7 days. You'll receive email notifications. If all retries fail, your subscription will be canceled and you'll revert to the Free tier.
Can I switch between Paid and Premium mid-cycle?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. When upgrading, you'll be charged the prorated difference. When downgrading, your new tier starts at the next renewal.
Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or education?
Yes! Contact support with verification of your nonprofit or educational institution status for potential discounts.
