What Are Journals?
Journals in TaskManager provide a private space for reflection, self-expression, and communication within your dynamic. You can:
- Write private entries for yourself
- Share entries with your dominant(s)
- Track moods and emotional states
- Reflect on training and progress
- Process scenes and experiences
✓ Privacy First
Journal entries are private by default. Only you can see them unless you explicitly share them. You control who sees your reflections.
Creating a Journal Entry

Navigate to Journals
Go to the Journals page from the main navigation menu.

Click New Entry
Click the "New Entry" button to start writing.

Add a Title (Optional)
Give your entry a title or leave it blank to auto-generate from the date.

Write Your Entry
Write your thoughts, reflections, or whatever you want to capture.

Add Mood Tag (Optional)
Select a mood to track how you're feeling.

Set Visibility
Choose whether to keep it private or share with others.

Save
Click "Save Entry" to save your journal.
Entry Options
Title
An optional title for your entry. If left blank, entries are identified by their date and time.
Content
The main body of your entry. The editor supports:
- Rich text formatting (bold, italic, etc.)
- Lists and bullet points
- Links
- Basic markdown syntax
Mood Tags
Select one or more moods to track your emotional state:
- Happy, Content, Peaceful
- Excited, Proud, Grateful
- Anxious, Stressed, Overwhelmed
- Sad, Frustrated, Confused
- Submissive, Needy, Craving
- Custom moods (create your own)
Attachments
Add photos or files to your entry:
- Photos from your media library
- New uploads directly to the entry
- Links to media in your library
Visibility Settings
Private (Default)
Only you can see this entry. It won't appear in anyone else's view, including your dominant.
Shared with Dominant(s)
The entry becomes visible to the dominant(s) in your hierarchy. They can:
- Read the entry
- Add comments (if enabled)
- See mood tags and attachments
Shared with Organization
Makes the entry visible to all members of your hierarchy. Use this for entries meant to be shared with everyone.
Changing Visibility
You can change an entry's visibility at any time:
- Open the entry
- Click the visibility setting
- Select new visibility
- Save changes
Journal Types
Daily Reflections
Regular entries about your day, thoughts, and feelings. Great for building self-awareness and maintaining connection with your dominant.
Scene Journals
Entries specifically for processing scenes and play sessions:
- What happened during the scene
- How you felt during and after
- What worked well
- What could be different
- Subspace or drop experiences
Training Journals
Entries related to your training progress:
- What you learned
- Challenges you faced
- Skills you're developing
- Questions for your dominant
Mood Logs
Quick entries focused on tracking emotional states over time. Useful for identifying patterns and sharing your emotional journey.
Viewing Your Journals
Journal List
The main Journals page shows all your entries:
- Sorted by date (newest first by default)
- Filter by mood, visibility, or date range
- Search entry content
- Quick mood overview in sidebar
Calendar View
See your entries on a calendar to visualize journaling frequency and mood patterns over time.
Mood Analytics
View trends in your mood tags:
- Most common moods
- Mood patterns by day of week
- Mood trends over time
Comments & Responses
When you share entries with your dominant:
Receiving Comments
Your dominant can leave comments on shared entries:
- Feedback and validation
- Questions for clarification
- Guidance and direction
- Praise and encouragement
Notifications
You'll be notified when someone comments on your shared entry (if notifications are enabled).
Journal Prompts
Not sure what to write? Try these journal prompts:

Privacy & Security
Data Protection
- All journal entries are encrypted at rest
- Private entries are only accessible to you
- Shared entries are only visible to specified people
- Admins cannot read your private journals
Exporting Journals
You can export your journal entries at any time:
- Go to Account Settings → Data Export
- Select "Include Journals"
- Download your data
Deleting Entries
You can delete any journal entry:
- Open the entry
- Click "Delete"
- Confirm deletion
⚠ Deletion is Permanent
Deleted journal entries cannot be recovered. Consider exporting before deleting if you might want the content later.
Best Practices
Write Regularly
Consistent journaling builds self-awareness and strengthens your dynamic. Even short entries are valuable.
Be Honest
Journals are most useful when you're truthful about your feelings, even difficult ones.
Use Mood Tags
Tracking moods over time reveals patterns you might not notice otherwise.
Share Thoughtfully
Sharing entries with your dominant builds connection and gives them insight into your inner world.
