What is the Media Library?
The Media Library is your organization's centralized storage for photos and videos. Organize media into albums, share with members, and keep all your important visuals in one place.

- Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WEBP
- Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, WEBM
- Max File Size: 100 MB per file

Creating Albums
Organize your media into albums for easy browsing and sharing.

Navigate to Media Library
Click "Media" in the main navigation menu.

Click "Create Album"
Enter a name and optional description for the album.

Set Privacy
Choose whether the album is visible to all members or private (admins only).

Save Album
The album is created and ready for media uploads.
Uploading Media
Add photos and videos to your albums:

Open an Album
Navigate to the album you want to add media to.

Click "Upload Media"
Select files from your device or drag and drop them into the upload area.

Add Captions (Optional)
Add captions or descriptions to uploaded media for context.

Media Processing
Images are automatically compressed for optimal storage and loading. Videos may take a moment to process.
✓ Bulk Upload
You can upload multiple files at once. Select or drag multiple files to upload them simultaneously.
Managing Media
Viewing Media
- Click any photo or video to view it in full size
- Navigate between media using arrow keys or on-screen buttons
- View captions, upload date, and uploader information
- Download original files if you have permission
Organizing Media
- Move Media: Transfer media between albums
- Add Tags: Tag media for easier searching
- Sort Options: Sort by date, name, or size
- Filter: Filter by media type (photos/videos) or tags
Deleting Media
To delete media:
- Open the media item
- Click the "Delete" button
- Confirm deletion
⚠ Permanent Deletion
Deleted media cannot be recovered. Make sure you have backups of important files before deleting.
Sharing Media
Share albums or individual media items with your team:
Album Sharing
- Public Albums: Visible to all organization members
- Private Albums: Visible only to admins and the creator
- Link Sharing: Generate shareable links for external viewing (Premium tier)
Download and Export
- Download individual files in their original quality
- Bulk download entire albums as ZIP files (Premium tier)
- Export media metadata (captions, dates, uploader)
Media Compression
To save storage space, TaskManager automatically compresses uploaded media:
- Images: Compressed using WebP format while maintaining visual quality
- Videos: Re-encoded to reduce file size (original quality preserved for download)
- Originals: Original files are always preserved and available for download
Storage Savings
Compression typically reduces file sizes by 60-80%, allowing you to store more media within your storage limit.
Mobile Access
Access your media library on mobile devices:
- Full browsing and viewing capabilities
- Upload photos directly from your phone's camera or gallery
- Record and upload videos on the go
- Touch-optimized gallery navigation
Privacy and Permissions
Who Can Upload?
Depends on your organization settings:
- All Members: Any member can upload to public albums
- Admins Only: Only admins can upload media
- Creator Only: Only the album creator can add media
Who Can Delete?
- Album creator can delete any media in their albums
- Admins can delete any media in any album
- Members can delete their own uploads (if permissions allow)
Best Practices
- Organize with Albums: Create albums by event, date, or category
- Use Descriptive Names: Name albums and add captions for easy searching
- Regular Cleanup: Delete old or unnecessary media to free up storage
- Backup Important Files: Download and save critical media externally
- Compress Before Upload: Pre-compress large videos to save upload time
- Monitor Storage: Check storage usage regularly and upgrade if needed
